Meet Recap

The Lowell Relays presents a very competitive field of 8 teams, but the venue of mostly relays makes it a fun event where even field events count as relays as they combine the performances of both school’s competitors to determine place. In the field events, Brooklyn Cade and Ce’Etter Steven combined their jumps for a 1st place finish in the high jump, Jhanelle Spence and Brianna Rodriguez combined in the long jump for a 3rd place finish, and Tatiana Clady and Kenadee Williams combined toss in the discus placed them 3rd overall. In the individual hurdle event, Cade placed 5th and Tyasia Jones finished 7th. In the relays: the Distance Medley team of Aaliyah Clopton, Ariah Smith, Hannah Hammar and Giselle Flores placed 3rd, the 9/10 Sprint relay team of Bianca Warrior, Akiya Hester, Ce’Etter Stevens and Brezhan Durant finished 3rd; the team of Rodriguez, Spence, Breanna Reed and Leilah Hicks placed 2nd in the Varsity Sprint Medley and 3rd in the 400 relay; the Shuttle hurdle relay team of Cade, Jones, Aliza Ramirez and Lynnae Collins placed 4th; the 3200 relay team of Clopton, Flores, Feli Velez and Hammar finished 2nd, and the 1600 m relay team of Hicks, Smith, Reed and Hammar placed 3rd. Nice job ladies in a very strong wind. Good luck at the GLAC meet on May 10th and Sectionals to follow a week later.
