Meet Recap

The Governors defeated Hammond High and Clark to wrap up the regular season meets. Scoring for the Governors by placing 1st and 2nd were: Tatiana Clady and Elisa Gonzalez in the shot put, and Tatiana ans Kenadee Williams in the discus. The same results also happened the high jump with Brooklyn Cade placing 1st and Ce’Etter Stevens placing 2nd. In the long jump Jhanelle Spence placed 2nd and Brianna Rodriguez 3rd. In the individual running events: Brooklyn placed 1st in the 100 high hurdles and Tyasia Jones placed 2nd; Bianca Warrior placed 2nd and Taya Stokes 3rd; Feli Velez and Alondra Yanez went 1-2 in the 1600 run; Brezhan Durant and Aliza Ramirez wetn 3-4 in the 400 dash; Ariah Smith placed 1st in the 300 low hurdles while teammate Brooklyn placed 2nd; Alondra and Feli both returned for the 800 run and flipped finishing position with Alondra finishing 1st and Feli 2nd; wrapping out the individual events was Taya finishing 2nd in the 200 dash, and Lynnae Collins placed 4th. The Governors swept all 3 relays with first place finishes: members of the 400 relay were Brianna, Jhanelle, Brookyn and Taya; 1600 relay team members were Brezhan, Akiya Hester, Alondra, and Ani Montford; and the 3200 relay team members were Ariah, Ani, Feli and Ayana Witherspoon.
